The Dupo Community School District held it’s first winter music and art festival called ‘Christmas Medley 09’ on Sunday, December 20th in the Dupo High School gymnasium. It was an entertaining afternoon recognizing the artistic accomplishments of students in music and art.
The event featured various forms of art and sculpture created by Dupo High School art students on display to the backdrop of holiday music provided by the band students of the district. The 5th Grade, 6th Grade, Jr High and High School bands all performed individually and collectively as a number of solos and ensembles entertained as well. It is hoped that it will become an annual event much like the Spring Art and Music festival.
It is led by High School Art instructor Mrs. Malgorzata Dinsenmeyer and District Band Director Dan Ward with the assistance and cooperation of High School Principal William Harris and Bluffview Elementary Principal John Bione.
