Event Raises Money for the East Carondelet Police Department
by Ronald Hebel
The first annual “Gobbler’s Dance” was held at the Community Center in East Carondelet to help the Police Department to raise needed funds for safety equipment such as bulletproof vest, and laptops for the squad cars. There are 12 part time officers on the force that patrol the street of East Carondelet, keeping the city safe. The new Police Chief is Herb Woodall, a 10 year veteran on the force. Chief Woodall is part-time himself, but take his duties seriously as any full time chief. He is committed to providing the best protection to the citizens through giving his officers the proper tools to do their job effectively. Chief Woodall said, “This event is a start of many more to come in helping upgrade the department in being the most effective they can be in providing security to the citizens and safety to the officers.”
The event seemed well attended and all were having a great deal of fun and fellowship with one another. Be sure to support your community Police Department for they deserve our support for being the buffer between us and the criminal.
