Carol Schnitker Hired as Food Service Manager
for Garden Place Communities
|

Garden Place Senior Communities welcomed new Food Service Manager Carol Schnitker in December. She is a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) and Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP). Carol brings a new level of service to the Garden Place Communities and is the first to oversee the dietary management of all the communities.
"We try to go the extra mile and provide for our residents dietary health preferences while also providing food of exceptional quality," said Kathy Asselmeier, co-owner and general manager of Garden Place Senior Living.

"Carol not only brings the ability to plan and coordinate meals for large groups but also specifically knows how to cater to the needs of seniors."
Garden Place residents are already big fans of Carol, said Kathy. Since her arrival, Carol has implemented an Omelet Bar that rotates on a regular schedule. It has been a big hit within each community.
Carol worked for 17 years as the food service director and food production manager for a long-term-care facility, providing about 1200 daily meals to more than 300 residents and 100 Meals on Wheels participants. She is ServSafe certified as well as a teacher and proctor for examinations. An active member of the Dietary Managers Association since 1997, Carol has served as the St. Louis, Mo., District 5 president for more than four years. In her spare time, Carol decorates cakes, including wedding cakes.
"I look forward to being involved in cooking classes as well as working closely with the residents in their meal planning," said Carol. "My primary goal is to make sure the residents are happy."
