The St. James Catholic School celebrated their annual Grandparents Day Friday, Sept. 11. It was a fun filled afternoon for the young and the young at heart. Mrs. Glaeser & Mrs. Diak are responsible for putting on the joyous occasion, along with Mrs. Frierdich and the student council. Credit also needs to go to the whole entire staff for a job well done.
The students joined their grandparents in the gymnasium and began decorating paper squares that will be put together to make a specially designed quilt. The students also gave their grandparents a bookmark with their picture on it.
At lunch time the grandparents shared in a meal with their grandchildren. Once everyone was finished eating we got down to some serious business in playing bingo. Father Marvin Volk was doing the calling of the numbers and you had to watch your cards closely because he gets really into it, rattling off the numbers quickly. The kids were winning all kinds of prizes, it was a lot of fun.
